This Giving Tuesday, Small Gifts, Big Difference!

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people to transform their communities. We feel that power everyday, through our staff, volunteers and donors who selflessly give and collaborate to provide dignity and opportunity for our neighbors in need. Today, we are putting the spotlight on two very important programs solely funded by private donations, the Head Start Backpack Program and the Seneca Emergency Baby Pantry. Every dollar raised, will provide countless children with opportunity for a brighter future.

We are proud to be a part of the Giving Tuesday movement and grateful for your support.

This year’s campaign focus is the Food Pantry and the Head Start Backpack Program.

These programs provide critical support to families in need across our community. The Food Pantry ensures households have access to nutritious food, helping children and adults stay healthy and nourished. The Head Start Backpack Program equips children with the essential tools and resources they need to succeed in the classroom giving them a strong start each week. Together, these programs strengthen families, ease daily challenges and help build a brighter future for our community.

In an average month, CAP’s Food Pantry serves 1,112 individuals including 362 children. The need increases greatly over the holiday season. The pantry serves all residents of Cayuga and Seneca Counties and allows households to visit twice per month, ensuring a steady and reliable source of support during difficult times.

The Head Start Backpack Program serves 140 families each month. The program is made possible the community donations. The Backpack Program provides one nutritious ready to eat meal designed for young children and packed with fresh items and shelf stable items.
